The Copenhagen Post Self-satisfied Danes (n.b. well that's the spirit)
A new international Gallup survey of nearly 60,000 people in 76 nations shows that the Danes? belief in themselves and in their future is virtually unsurpassed throughout the world - only people in Kosovo, who are just recovering from years of war and dejection, were more optimistic about their future. Despite the threat of recession hanging over their heads, a significant majority of the population said that they expected this year, 2002, to be better than last, and 73% stated they could easily find a new job if they became unemployed.
